Alain de Botton has good ideas, which he delivers so fast that you fear for his oxygen levels.

A nice overview of the now famous "Mexican Suitcase" of Spanish Civil War photographs, and of the gal whose name is too often dropped from reporting on that topic in favor of her longer-lived male partner.

Anti-copyright attitudes that try to justify the theft of music, photos, movies, and other media try to hide their selfishness behind anti-corporate attitudes... While happily shelling out for hardware to big corporations! They just don't care if your animator (or musician, or artist) friends can make their rent this month.

Moveable type in the Korean exhibition about the Joseon period at the Asian Art Museum here in SF.

The characters are 'hanja,' those Chinese characters the Koreans borrowed to use when writing Korean before Hangul (the Korean alphabet) was invented. Hanja remained in common use until relatively recently, despite the obvious fact that Hangul is really cool looking! :) Yes, they are backward here so they will print forward.
