I enjoyed Ruth Ozeki's newest novel, which touches on time, the 2011 Japanese tsunami, Internet bullying, history, Zen, and more!

Gibson's recent near-future fiction has been deeply engrossing, and has brought new audiences into his fan club; this new book, the Peripheral, takes his near-future descriptions into a new direction. His typically satisfying descriptions of characters' behavior, the places they live in, and details such as their aggressive ergonomic chairs are simultaneously novel and a perfect fit for a tightly woven world that seems just around a (dark) corner.
