Much needed practice

I've been studying Japanese again, but my notes have been terrible looking, so I'm (finally) using the practice sheets from the wonderful hiragana writing lessons at japanese-lesson.com, along with a fancy Tombow brush pen and some holiday paper.  I... have a long way to go before I get these shapes right!

The Scent of Lilacs

I am surprised and delighted that the German language has a special word for the scent of lilacs.

Der Fliederduft.

I was trying to explain (in German) what I most enjoy about spring, and apparently, I am not alone in this! 

How sweet.  And unexpected.
