I had two days off after some UK business meetings, so I took a train to London and decided to spend the hot May weekend there.

The heat suppressed my energy levels, so I spent one day at the (air conditioned) Tate Britain, and the other exploring Chelsea on foot, (and/or hiding out in my air conditioned hotel room, waiting for the sun to set so I could feel some cool air on my skin).  I rested a bit more than I had hoped, but still had a chance to take some long walks.

In March 2014, I had a brief, cold, lovely visit to Luzern, Switzerland, where I was lucky enough to spend a few days after a business trip.

It rained heavily and even snowed while I was there, so I spent time outdoors bundled up and/or hoping to return indoors!  During breaks in the weather, I enjoyed the lovely pedestrian bridges over the Ruess River, the charming old town, the sky reflecting on Lake Lucerne (der Vierwaldstättersee), and views of Mt. Rigi and Mt. Pilatus.

(These photos show slightly different subjects than my earlier panoramic photos did.)

It's amusing to me that Internet disputes about the spelling of the current Jewish holiday don't even bother considering the spelling used on SF's City manorah sign. Ours starts with a C and has no double letters. Ha!

I was there for the lighting ceremony and song tonight, and it was charming.

Our City Xmas tree gave me flashbacks to prior years (tradition!), and makes me want to suggest different yearly themes, so I can better organize the years in my memories.
